Before commencing the teeth whitening process, you will have a consultation to make sure you are a suitable candidate for teeth whitening. You will then be asked to sign a teeth whitening consent form to confirm that you have fully understood the procedure.

The next step is to apply a Vitamin E moisturizer to the lips to prevent any chapping or dryness during treatment. A cheek retractor is then inserted into the mouth to keep the lips and cheek away from your teeth during treatment, and to expose the esthetic zone (teeth that are visible when one smiles). Eye protective goggles are also provided to prevent any damage to the eyes from the LED lamp. The whitening gel is applied to the esthetic zone teeth, which will be exposed to an LED light that activates our whitening products. The teeth are checked periodically to see how well they are being whitened and whether more gel needs to be applied. After approximately 20 minutes the gel is removed and the process is repeated again. During this time you can watch tv or listen to music in the comfort of your own home/office.

After the final gel application, the cheek retractor is removed, the client rinses, and the final shade change is measured. The teeth may whiten by as few as two to three shades, or as many as eight. If the teeth are excessively stained, we may decide to give a further 15 minute session for free to make sure you get the best possible results. A take-home regimen may also be recommended to continue/upkeep the whitening process.

Finally, a remineralization gel is applied to the teeth to revitalize the enamel after the teeth whitening process. This product contains calcium and phosphates that penetrate enamel to repair small lesions and is great for customers who have sensitive teeth or experience tooth sensitivity after whitening.
